Completed Framing

I apologize for the lack of pictures on all the progress. We have had a crazy two weeks prepping our home to go on the market this week, so our focus was completely shifted.

As of today, our framing is complete and our shingles are dropped and will be installed this week, probably starting tomorrow. The plumber will also be out this Thursday, Jan 18th. He was initially supposed to be there on the 8th, but there was a slight delay and the framers needed a bit more time. HiLine accounted for some delays in their timeline though, so our move-in date of mid-March remains. I don't know why they needed more time and we did not ask. It was the holidays after all, so life happens.

With HiLine, you are responsible for obtaining fans to dry out the interior. We completed that part last week and are ready to get those going as soon as the shingles are done. HiLine does do a humidity test to ensure everything is to a safe standard. This was all known and accounted for in finances ahead of time.

What we did not anticipate, was the amount of trash we would have to haul off. We did know we were responsible for keeping the site clean, but it ended up being 2000lbs of wood and other debris we had to haul off. The weight was certainly affected by some absorbed rain. Yes, perhaps we could have burned it on site, but with selling our house, we simply did not have the time to spend all day there to watch a fire, so the dump it was. I would HIGHLY recommend getting a trailer if you do not own one. It will come in quite handy. We have managed fine with UHaul rentals, but sometimes that can eat up quite a bit of valuable time in your day. Besides, if you live in western WA and you are purchasing land, you will likely have lots of yard waste to routinely haul off if you keep your property nicely landscaped.

***Edited add in note on February 3rd, 2018, it ended up being around 5000lbs of debris hauled off.
